Trainees assist Lucan Tidy Towns clean-up for Water Strike 2021 888011000 110888 Fourth year trainees of St. Joseph’s University spent a day just recently helping the Lucan Tidy Towns in its clean-up initiatives around the town, composes Kim O’Leary. These young aspiring environmental researchers, led by their instructor, Ms Michelle Dunne and sustained by Ms Linda Ennis, walked up through Vesey Park, taking random samples of the water in the Griffeen River. They were getting involved, in support of Lucan Tidy Towns, in Water Blitz 2021, a DCU organised event together with Earthwatch Europe. Person researchers countrywide were asked to example and test the water top quality in their regional river, lake, fish pond or stream for nitrates and phosphates, making use of packages supplied to them. This same event occurred in a variety of European cities, including London and also Paris.
