Construction has begun this morning at the Lidl Whitestown Way store in Tallaght.
Lidl say the store upgrade will see a substantial €11 million investment in the local area alongside the creation of 4 new jobs with the retailer when the store re-opens early next year, adding to the existing team of 22.
The company also say a 100 further jobs will also be supported indirectly throughout the planning and development phases.
The upgrade will see the existing Lidl Whitestown Way store transformed into a more modern, spacious building incorporating a range of new and exciting features, including a PV panel installation, electric vehicle charging points.
The store will continue to serve the local community during its regular operating hours while under construction.
However, it will close temporarily after Christmas to allow for the final phase of the refurbishment to be carried out. The store will then re-open in Spring 2022.
