NA FIANNA will bid for a first-ever Dublin senior tossing champion title under the eyes of the RTÉ Sport television cams on Saturday when they face down heated favourites Kilmacud Crokes in Parnell Park.
Na Fianna, led by Dublin county celebrity Liam Rushe who transferred to the Mobhi Road club from St Rub’s Palmerstown this period, were ultra impressive in their defeat of Lucan Sarsfields in the semi-finals.
But the ruling Go Ahead Adult Hurling League Division 1 champions will certainly have it all to do against current victors Crokes who saw off double All-Ireland champions as well as holders Cuala in their very own last four clash.
The game will obtain the complete RTÉ treatement on Saturday, while the 1961 All-Ireland finalist Dublin group will be honoured at half-time in Donnycarney 50 years after their final loss to Tipperary.
Na Fianna owner Jimmy Gray was the goalkeeper on that particular group, and currently the current head of state of the Dublin Area Board he will be honoured as component of the parties.
